80 Varieties of Beer, Cider and Wine Announced for Inaugural Keg, Rattle & Roll

Keg, Rattle and Roll presented by Great Northern Catskills is on August 3rd and 4th, just ten days away!  In addition to 67 craft beers and ciders, and 13 wines, the inaugural festival at Windham Mountain will feature live music, craft and food vendors.

Standouts on the beverage list include a Saison Rosé from Brewery Ommegang, Aloha Friday, a tangy fruit cider from Downeast Cider House, Equilibrium Brewery’s MC2 Imperial IPA, and Sloop Brewing Company’s Super Soft IPA.  While most of the lineup is sourced regionally, there are some great options from further away like Bell’s Brewery’s Oberon Ale Wheat Beer and 21st Amendment’s Hell or High Watermelon fruit beer.  The wine list has red, white, pink, still and bubbly options from four continents, noting several New York choices.  “We’re offering a really good mix of different categories of beers, ciders and wines,” says Dave Kulis, Director of Sales and Marketing and Windham Mountain, and the driving force behind Keg, Rattle and Roll.  “There truly will be something for everyone to enjoy, including a kids soda tasting experience.”

Live music will accompany the tasting event both days with a five-band lineup on the NBT Bank Stage.  The Silver Chain Band, Moonshine Junkies and 80’s rockers, Lost Angeles will play Saturday, with Whiskey Cross and Southbound providing Sunday’s soundtrack.  The festival will also highlight local food and craft vendors, including smoked BBQ, Jamaican cuisine, fish & chips, street tacos, and more.

While admission to the festival grounds is free, official Keg, Rattle & Roll glassware is required for beverage tastings.  Three types of glasses are offered, and each comes with three fills.  A six ounce taster glass is $16 in advance or $18 day-of, while wine and pint glasses are $30 in advance or $34 day-of.  Kids color-changing soda tasting mugs and two fills are offered at $10 in advance or day-of.  The deadline to purchase glassware and tastings at a discounted rate is 11:59pm on Friday, August 2nd.

Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets to set up in the grass on the festival grounds area.  No pets, outside glassware, food or beverages are permitted.  Factory sealed water bottles are allowed.  Visit windhammountain.com for all festival details and to purchase discounted glassware and tastings in advance.
