Windham Mountain Hosts 10th Annual Skiing & Riding Santa Day

EVENT RAISES $7,000 FOR WINDHAM COMMUNITY FOOD PANTRY

Windham Mountain, Windham, NY (December 16, 2019) -

176 skiers and riders, dressed as Santa, rang in the holiday season at Windham Mountain on Sunday.  $7,000 was raised for the Windham Community Food Pantry, based at Hope Restoration Church in Windham, NY.  It was the 10th annual event at Windham Mountain.  Video from the event may be viewed and downloaded here.

Participants were rewarded for dressing as Santa and donating to the food pantry with free lift access for the day Sunday, and for one additional day this winter season.  Tom Jakubowski, a representative of the Windham Community Food Pantry, was at the base of the mountain to accept a check from Chip Seamans, President & General Manager of Windham Mountain on Sunday morning.  Jakubowski and Seamans greeted participants and thanked them for their support as they made their way onto the mountain to enjoy a Sunday of skiing and snowboarding.  “Skiing and Riding Santa Day has become a fun tradition here at Windham Mountain.  It’s how we kick off the holiday season while helping to support community”, Seamans said.

Snowmaking is in progress across the West Peak of Windham Mountain this morning as terrain expands in advance of the busy holiday period.  Over twelve million dollars has been devoted to the guest experience at Windham Mountain in the last two years.  A long list of exciting operational updates include increased lift capacity and snowmaking automation.
