Windham COVID-19 Community Updates
Windham Mountain Community Update
Greetings from Windham Mountain,
It never fails that a couple of cooler nights near the end of August prompt some of our fun-loving friends to joke, “are you making snow tonight”? If nothing else, it reminds us that winter is not far away. We are deep into winter planning and preparation in a Covid-19 world, so I thought you would appreciate an update.
As summer winds down, the golf course and mountain bike park are in great shape and have both been busy. Sky rides have proven very popular this summer and many hikers have enjoyed the peak-to-peak trail at the top of the mountain. Mulligans deck is one of the nicest places in town to enjoy a great outdoor lunch or dinner and the sunsets are spectacular. Thanks to all who have stopped by and kept us somewhat sane. It is nice to see more people than usual living in Windham over the summer months.
We have learned a lot about distancing and pandemic protocols that will be helpful going forward. We are doing everything we can now to ensure that we can all participate in the activities we love this winter. At this time we are optimistic that skiing and riding will happen but many aspects of operating the ski area will be different. The overarching goal for the season is to operate daily, safely and without disruption, but it’s going to take all of us doing our part to make that happen.
The ski industry is great about sharing best practices and is working closely together this summer. We also stay in close contact with state and regional authorities as things continues to evolve.
New York State guidelines will likely limit indoor capacity and require mandatory mask usage in all indoor spaces. Significant changes are planned for internal operations in food & beverage, the ski shop, rentals, lessons, seasonal lockers, restrooms, the spa and others. Expect to see reservations required for restaurants, food to-go from Mountain Express, food trucks, tents, heaters and outdoor heated benches to allow for more usable outdoor space. We’re also likely to encourage guests to “boot up” at their vehicles because of indoor capacity restrictions.
On the mountain, as much skiing and riding as possible will be available with significant upgrades to the snowmaking system. At this point, we do not expect limits on season pass usage or midweek, non-holiday visitation. That said, season pass quantities may be limited depending on the amount sold through the October 12 pricing deadline. The number of day tickets sold may have to be limited over key weekend and holiday periods.
As a reminder to those who have purchased a season pass (or are considering a pass purchase) and are uncomfortable about the upcoming season for any reason, a rollover option is available that allows you to push your pass purchase to the 21/22 winter season if you contact us between September 1 and December 10, 2020.
Again, our goal is to offer winter recreation that we all love. We ask for your patience, flexibility, and understanding as we adapt operations with the health and safety of the Windham Mountain community in mind. We will keep you posted and look forward to seeing you soon.
Chip Seamans
President and General Manager

We will not be opening for Memorial Day weekend and will provide updated information as soon as it becomes available. We thank you for your patience and understanding.
On-line tee times

Goggles for Medical Professionals Update:
We have now shipped 285 pair of goggles to hospitals, primarily in New York, to help our medical professionals in need of PPE. Our communities contribution has been much more significant than that number reflects. Many members of this great community gathered and shipped goggles to hospitals in need. The response has been truly incredible. As of this morning, there are 16 hospitals in New York alone that have requested assistance, and all of them have had their requested goggle needs fulfilled. Since Monday, over 4,700 goggles have gone to New York hospitals in need. Overall, we will continue to leave the dropbox out and ship any goggles collected to hospitals around the country in need, with a primary focus on New York and the tri-state region. We will continue to monitor the gogglesfordocs.com website to see where the greatest need is. In just four days, the ski community as a whole was able to send as of this morning over 9,300 pairs of goggles as a result of this completely grassroots movement. There is no doubt that our communities contribution helped our brave medical professionals save patients lives. Thank you so much for your support.
Previous update - March 31, 2020
The goggle drive is off to an incredible start. Between your donations, the mountain’s donations, and scouring lost and found, we are set to send over 200 pairs of goggles to NYC hospitals. This is a picture of what we were able to collect today as they all dry from being washed and sanitized. We will continue to accept goggle donations at the drop box and send daily to hospitals in need of PPE. Anything helps. We can make a difference in saving lives!! If you can help but are not in the area, please go to gogglesfordocs.com to find out which hospitals need help and their shipping details. Thank you for your continued support.
Wishing your family continued safety and health,

Windham Mountain Community Update
3/20/20
Like all of you, the team at Windham Mountain continues to monitor the Covid-19 pandemic with wide-ranging emotions. Many of us are working from home to take care of essential business and plans are changing rapidly. With this communication, we want to send our thoughts and prayers to the entire Windham Community, and thank you for the season that we were all disappointed to see come to an end.
We also want to provide you with a number of updates.
First, many of you have asked about unredeemed tickets from the 2019-20 season. Unredeemed ticket vouchers from this season – including Triple Play tickets, ski shops, Costco, lodging partners and other voucher products will be extended for use through December 24, 2020. Any unused vouchers or tickets may be brought to the tickets and passes counter next season and we will swap for a ticket to be used through 12/24/20.
Some of you have also inquired about retrieving gear and other personal items from 3500 club lockers or other common areas. At this time all public areas remain closed. We ask for your understanding and would appreciate limiting any collection of personal gear to emergency situations by contacting Windham Mountain security.
We know that you have far more important things on your mind right now, but beginning Saturday, March 21, 2020, Windham Mountain winter 2020/21 season passes, seasonal programs and add-ons will be available for sale. We have decided to extend our lowest rates until April 30, 2020. Please note that no on-site sales of passes and programs will take place this weekend or in the coming days. We are encouraging you to purchase on-line as the first choice. We are also providing a simple form with contact information that any guest may fill out and our team will respond to answer questions and help facilitate sales over the phone.
The big news this year is that we have put together a great new season pass option called the Windham Ultra Pass. It combines unlimited skiing and riding at Windham Mountain with an Ikon Base pass – opening up access to an impressive lineup of approximately 40 additional resorts. Windham only Double Diamond passes are also available at lower prices than last season. Please click here to see the complete lineup of season passes, seasonal programs and add-ons.
We will get through this together and are already preparing for an excellent 2020-21 season. Our best wishes to all of you to stay healthy in these unprecedented times.

Windham Mountain Operations Update
Due to NY State capacity restrictions, concern over ski area density and volume, and as a result of regional closings of other ski areas, Windham Mountain will institute additional restrictions for our final day of operation, Sunday, March 15, 2020. For our final day, please be aware of the following:
Windham Mountain will operate for existing season passholders and those guests with pre-paid tickets and vouchers only.
Prepaid tickets and vouchers include items such as Triple Play tickets, ski shop and lodging vouchers, Costco tickets and on-line tickets from both windhammountain.com and other third-party outlets
No lift-tickets will be sold on Sunday. No “walk-up” tickets will be offered.
As a reminder: for Sunday, we will offer very limited services and restrictions on chairlift seating capacity will be in place. Seasons restaurant will not operate, the menu in Mountain Express will be limited, and no lessons, rentals, or demos will be available. Additional changes, including operations in Windham Mountain Sports, may be put in place as we continue to evaluate the situation.
We apologize for this last-minute change and appreciate your understanding.

Windham Mountain Operations Update and Message to our Community
With a mixture of gratitude, resolve and concern for the health and welfare of our employees and guests, Windham Mountain will close for the winter season at the end of the day on Sunday, March 15, 2020. After much deliberation and consultation with industry and community partners regarding the Covid-19 global pandemic, we feel that this is the right thing to do.
For our final day of operation on Sunday, March 15, 2020, we will offer limited services. Seasons restaurant will not operate, the menu in Mountain Express will be limited, and no lessons, rentals, or demos will be available.
It goes without saying that the health and safety of our community is our number one priority, and in that regard we are honoring any requests to cancel ski school/lesson/rental reservations and we are offering a credit to anyone who has booked lodging with us and has decide to change their plans.
We intend to have staff available and responsive to email and phone communications in the coming days while also keeping community safety at the top of our mind. We also intend to begin offering 2020/21 winter season passes, programs and add-ons on March 21st via windhammountain.com
Thank you for your understanding and support.
Previous Statement from March 12, 2020
Windham Mountain Operations Update and Message to our Community
The health and safety of our community members is and always has been our number one priority at Windham -- never more so than now. As the situation around the Covid-19 (Coronavirus) continues to evolve at a rapid pace, we have decided to implement measures to ensure your safety.
As you may know, NY State today placed restrictions on large gatherings. While it is not yet clear whether these guidelines apply to resorts like ours, we have made the decision to implement the following restrictions at Windham Mountain:
we will limit indoor gatherings and augment our food and beverage offerings on the patio area
we will limit the amount of people in certain areas at one time
the Alpine Spa is closed for the remainder of the season
the Children’s Learning Center is closed for the remainder of the season
the season Passholder party scheduled for this Saturday is canceled
Also, our end of season Town Hall Meeting, including our announcements regarding the 2020/21 season pass and program offerings will no longer be held as a public event. Instead, we will share information via a dial-in conference line. We obviously would love to have as many of our community members participate on the call, but we of course understand that there are far more important issues to focus on right now, and we will be issuing a written announcement next week. If you do wish to dial in, instructions are provided below.
Finally, we learned earlier today that a Windham Volunteer Ski Patroller who also works as a paramedic came into contact with a patient in his hometown who has now been diagnosed with the COVID-19 virus. This patroller was on site at Windham Mountain yesterday, on the mountain and indoors in areas of the buildings that are not open to the public. Those areas have been thoroughly cleaned and we are actively monitoring the health of our patroller, who is being tested for the virus. The patroller went home the same day and is being tested and is following the quarantine guidelines set forth by the CDC.
It goes without saying that the health and safety of our community is our number one priority, and in that regard we are honoring any requests to cancel ski school/lesson/rental reservations and we are offering a credit to anyone who has booked lodging with us and has decide to change their plans.
We will continue to provide updates as we receive any new information.

Previous Statement from 3/10/20:
The health & safety of Windham Mountain guests and employees is our top priority. We are closely monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and are taking action based on guidance from public health experts. In order to maintain a safe environment and address guest concerns, we are taking the following measures:
Everyday Practices
The Facility Maintenance team at Windham Mountain cleans and sanitizes public areas such as the base lodge and cafeteria, rest rooms and surfaces throughout our indoor facilities on a regular basis, and every night after closing, using antibacterial and antiviral disinfectants. Team members are required to regularly wash hands and maintain clean working areas.
Additional precautions
In response to the coronavirus, we have increased cleaning protocols related to high-touch surfaces such as doorknobs, handrails, keyboards, plumbing fixtures, elevator buttons, counters, tables and chairs, lockers and more.
Alcohol-based hand sanitizers are located throughout the resort at point-of-sale locations for guests and staff.
Team members and guests are asked to stay home and to see a doctor if they feel unwell.
We hope you will visit Windham and enjoy skiing and riding in March. If you have a reservation at the Winwood Inn and are unable to travel due to Coronavirus, we will waive our usual cancellation policy and apply your deposit to another stay for a comparable visit in the next 12 months.
We will keep you up to date on this important issue, and we look forward to seeing you on the mountain.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
