Golf Course Information

Christman's Windham House, Windham, NY

Christman's Windham House has 27 beautiful holes of golf: The 18-hole Mountain Course and the 9-hole valley course.

The 7072-yard Mountain Course was built by the Christman family over the last 10 years. The first four holes play uphill through an old maple sugar bush with a combination of a par 3, two 4's and a par 5. The next 6 holes cross streams and ponds following great golf terrain around Christman’s own "amen" corner to the top of the course at the 10th tee. Many players stop for a snack at the Power Line before playing the 11th—at 620 yards this one takes energy. Holes 12 through 17 gradually bring you down the mountain, exposing a spectacular view of the valleys to the east and south. On the 18th tee, a straight tee shot to a dropping, terraced fairway leaves a satisfying short iron to a perched green.

The Valley Golf Course 9 is complete with memorable golf holes and wonderful views. It is complemented by a Driving Range and a complete Golf Learning Facility.

Par 70. 69 rating/105 slope—7072 total yards (mountain course); 3 miles from Windham.

Roland Stafford Golf School

For nearly 30 years, the Windham Country Club has proudly hosted The Roland Stafford School.

During his 50-year playing career, Roland Stafford qualified for 26 major golf championships and was a member of both the PGA and Senior PGA Tours. In his PGA sections he served two years as president, was twice voted Teacher of the Year, and in 1999 was elected to the PGA Hall of Fame. In addition to golf, Roland Stafford holds a Master’s Degree in music education. Perhaps not surprisingly, rhythm and tempo are critical elements of his teaching methodology.

Students of the game love the teaching method. Its brilliance is its simplicity, which in turn breeds confidence in players and allows them their best game on the golf course. Teaching professionals are selected for their knowledge of the game and their ability to communicate this method clearly and simply to students.
