Ullr festival and Guinness Record Unveiling
Opening Weekend (Currently scheduled November 20th 2010 weather permitting)
The mythological Norse ski god will join Windham Mountain for a FIRE AND ICE ceremony to pray for a great winter. Ullr will ski give away prizes and “dancing” to celebrate our 50th season. Windham will also unveil the Guinness plaque with all 1,007 participants of the “Longest Torchlit Parade”. There will be Guinness drinks specials in legends and Viking helmets for sale in Mountain Sports Shop.

Dashing through the Snow and Skiing Santa Day
Dec. 18-19 2010
On Saturday, Windham Mountain will greet guests with holiday cheer by featuring a hand bell choir. On Sunday, Windham Mountain welcomes all skiing and riding Santas in head-to-toe costumes. A free ski pass will be given for anyone dressed as Santa for the day along with 2 more mid-week non holiday vouchers. All skiing and riding Santa’s will be required to pre-register. A minimum donation of $10 is requested and will be given to the local food pantry at Hope Restoration Church in Windham, NY. All Santas to meet at 9am for gathering, tickets, group picture, and initial group ski or ride. Gelvis (the Elvis impersonator) will be signing holiday favorites. Also the Mountain Dew Vertical Challenge will be on the mountain.

New Years Eve Weekend
Dec. 31- Jan. 1 2011
On Friday, (New Year’s Eve Dance Party!), Johnny Moon and Starz- Windham Mountain’s house band – will ring in the New Year. There will also be fireworks and a contest for the first skier of the New Year. On Saturday, Legends Lounge will raffle off new skis and Johnny Moon will be playing again for a “hair of the dog” party.

College Week

Come show your school spirit. Windham Mountain offers value pricing for college students with a valid student ID card. Activities include School vs. School ski and board races, Legends Lounge beverage pong, flip cup tournaments and more.

Wounded Warrior Weekend
Jan. 6-9 2011
Windham Mountain’s Adaptive Sports Foundation (ASF) will host the Wounded Warriors weekend. Instructors help veterans to overcome injuries and experience the thrill of skiing and snowboarding. On Saturday January 8th, The Giving Tree will play classic rock music in Legends Lounge. The band is also donating $1,000 to ASF.

Martin Luther King Holiday Weekend

The World of Dance squad will perform at various locations in the lodge all weekend. The Nerds are playing in Legends Lounge on Saturday afternoon. There will also be a Fashion Show highlighting goods from Windham Mountain Sports Shop.

50th Anniversary Extravaganza & 50’s Bash

Windham Mountain will officially celebrate its 50th year in operation. We’ll feature a live band in Legends Lounge, fireworks display, memorabilia, a time capsule, gold skiers, games, drink specials, cake cutting and champagne toast. Grab your Diddy Bop shades and check out Windham Mountain’s vintage ski display. Windham will surprise one lucky winner with a huge giveaway.

Windham Mountain will host the annual Big Air Bag Throwdown on Saturday night. The Mountain will also feature a “best 80’s ski suit” contest and neon nights giveaways. The kids can enjoy Pac-man tag and scavenger hunts.

Windham Mountain’s snowboard park will hold a retro rail jam. DJ Pat will be in Legends playing 90’s favorites. The Amish Outlaws will here in Legends Lounge. On the valley side of Legends Lounge, there’s a Casino Night, with all ticket sales benefiting Community Action of Greene County.
