Windham Mountain Resort, Windham, NY (December 4, 2017) -
On Sunday, December 10, 2017, Windham Mountain Resort will ring in the holiday season with its annual charitable celebration. Nearly two hundred skiing and riding Santas will take to the slopes in support of the Windham Community Food Pantry at the Hope Restoration Church in the village of Windham, NY.
Participants sporting head-to-toe holiday apparel are invited to make a minimum donation of $30 to the food bank, and in return ski or ride for free on the day of the event, along with another (mid-week, non-holiday) day during the 2017-2018 season. Last year, $5,000 was raised, and a check was presented to the food bank on by Chip Seamans, President & General Manager of Windham Mountain Resort, who said, “We always enjoy how this event brings out the holiday cheer, we’re excited to see so many people take part year after year.”
On the day of the event, participants will start checking in at 8:00 a.m. in Mountain Express on the mountain side of the second floor of the base lodge. At 9:45 a.m., the group will meet at the base of D-Lift, just uphill from the base lodge, for the donation presentation and photo opportunities. Shortly after, Santas will embark on their journey up the lift to mid-mountain, and take a group run down What’s Next, an easy beginner trail on the Mountain’s east peak.
Space is limited for this fun and festive day at Windham Mountain Resort. All skiing and riding Santas are required to pre-register and may do so at www.windhammountain.com.
