Whatever you choose, Windham has tickets and passes for you.
Windham Mountain, Windham, NY (September 1, 2013) - The Windham Mountain Sports Shop has a whole new look this fall, having completed a store remodel that pulls its popular Boot Lab to the forefront.
Master Boofitter Marc Stewart has become a fixture at the on-mountain sports shop since his first season at Windham Mountain Resort in 2010. Custom bootfitting since 1989, a board certified Pedorthist, and a member of the Masterfit university teaching staff, Stewart grabbed the attention of the Resort’s guests through his many satisfied, and comfortable, customers.
For the 2013-14 season the Shop has expanded its boot inventory to offer a variety of fits that can later be customized in the Boot Lab. “Just because a company makes a great boot doesn’t mean it is right for every individual,” says Stewart. “You can’t do quality bootfitting without a deep inventory.”
The newly improved Boot Lab is now flanked by its expanded boot inventory, all new bootfitting benches, and all of the tools needed to create a comfortable fit. The Fischer vacuum system is now also available, which features a highly customizable shell system that allows the boot to be molded for every individual foot.
The Boot Lab is now located just inside the entrance of Windham Mountain Sports, where guests can see for themselves the attention to detail Stewart puts into every fitting. As guests wait for their boot fitting service they will be able to check out the apparel, equipment and services available in Windham Mountain Sports.
Most bootfitting services are appointment-based, however walk-ins are always welcome. The average bootfitting session lasts approximately 30-40 minutes, though some parts of the process can be done without skier or rider present.
Stewart hopes that the future of bootfitting at Windham Mountain Resort will be working with Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) and the Snow Sports School to begin a series of educational seminars. “Making boots more comfortable improves skiing and performance, and instructors and their students really benefit from a properly fitted boot.”
