Adaptive Sports Foundation
Where anything is possible!
The Adaptive Sports Foundation at Windham Mountain is the largest program of its kind on the East Coast, and is considered one of the top adaptive sports programs in the nation. The program welcomes children and adults with physical and/or cognitive disabilities and chronic illnesses. The program operates from the Gwen Allard Adaptive Sports Center, located slopeside on Windham Mountain. The ASF winter program opens on weekends only in December and runs seven days a week from Christmas week through the end of the season. The Adaptive Sports Foundation offers half and full-day lessons.
The Adaptive Sports Foundation also runs a competition race program for athletes with both physical and cognitive disabilities. Individuals interested in the race team must be strong intermediate skiers/snowboarders, must be able to ride the lift independently, and be able to manage their own equipment.
The Adaptive Sports Foundation's well trained volunteer staff provides quality lessons that will introduce participants to the freedom of skiing and snowboarding and teach them a sport they can do together with their family.
Please go to the Foundation's website at www.adaptivesportsfoundation.org or call 518-734-5070 to find out about the program's advanced reservation process. Holiday reservations (Christmas week, MLK weekend, and President's week) begin during the fall so be sure to check the dates and call early; available lesson slots fill quickly!
